Pakistani Family Law — Key Laws That Protect You
Pakistani family law is a combination of Islamic Shariah and statutory legislation — and it strongly protects the rights of wives, children, and overseas Pakistanis.
Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961
Governs Talaq, Khula, maintenance, and Nikah registration. Requires all divorces and marriages to be registered with Union Council within 30 days.
Dissolution of Muslim Marriages Act 1939
Gives wives the legal right to obtain a court decree of dissolution (Khula) on specific grounds — even without the husband's consent.
Guardians & Wards Act 1890
Governs child custody and guardianship. Courts decide based on the child's "welfare and best interest" — mother gets Hizanat (physical custody) for young children.
Domestic Violence Act (Provincial)
Punjab, Sindh, and KPK all have domestic violence laws allowing emergency Protection Orders and Restraining Orders against abusers.

Family Issues Overseas Pakistanis Face
We handle all of these entirely remotely — no Pakistan visit ever required from you.
Divorce Stuck for Years
Husband won't sign, won't cooperate, has disappeared, or refuses to give Talaq. Our Khula service gets you a court-issued divorce regardless — husband's consent is not needed.
Children Taken to Pakistan
Child unlawfully taken by the other parent to Pakistan. We file urgent Recovery Orders before the Family Court within 24 hours, plus a criminal FIR simultaneously for maximum legal pressure.
Maintenance Not Being Paid
Husband in Pakistan or abroad refusing to pay maintenance for wife and/or children. We file enforcement proceedings and recover back-payments (arrears) through court orders.
Unregistered Nikah or Divorce
Nikah or Talaq happened but was never officially registered with Union Council or NADRA. We regularise old undocumented cases — even marriages or divorces from decades ago.
Mehr / Dower Not Paid
Wife's agreed Mehr has not been paid by husband. We file a civil suit to recover the Mehr amount with interest — as it is a legal debt owed by the husband to the wife.
Foreign Divorce Not Recognised in Pakistan
Got divorced in UK, USA or Europe but the decree isn't recognised in Pakistan — preventing remarriage or causing inheritance disputes. We handle formal recognition through Pakistani courts.
