Power of Attorney for Overseas Pakistanis

One properly drafted power of attorney lets a trusted person or your advocate handle your property, court case or documents in Pakistan while you stay abroad. We draft it for your exact task, tell you how to get it attested at the embassy, and handle the work once it arrives.

Special or general power of attorney?

Choosing the right type protects you. Most problems we see come from wide general powers given to relatives or property dealers.

Special power of attorney

Gives your attorney the power to do one specific thing, such as sell one plot, run one court case or collect one certificate. This is what we recommend for most overseas clients.

General power of attorney

Gives wide powers over your property and affairs. It is useful in some cases, but it is easier to misuse, so give it only to someone you fully trust and for a limited time.

How it works from abroad

  1. Tell us what needs to be done. Share the task and the documents on WhatsApp. The consultation is free.
  2. We draft the power of attorney. It names your attorney, describes the exact task and includes limits that protect you.
  3. Sign it at the Pakistani mission. Book an appointment at your embassy, high commission or consulate and sign in front of the officer, usually with two witnesses.
  4. Courier it to Pakistan. Send the attested original to your attorney or to us as soon as possible.
  5. Stamping and registration. We get it stamped in Pakistan and, where needed, present it at the registrar, society or court.
  6. The work gets done. Your attorney or advocate completes the task, and you get copies of every document on WhatsApp.

Protect yourself

Overseas owners often lose property because of a power of attorney given years ago. Give special powers for one task, set limits, keep a copy, and cancel old powers of attorney you no longer need.

Our advocates have more than 15 years of experience with property and family matters, and we draft every power of attorney for the specific job.

Fees and payment

We discuss your task, review your documents and agree the fee with you on WhatsApp or a call before any work starts.

Payment by bank transfer, JazzCash or Easypaisa.

Power of attorney FAQs

Which power of attorney should I give, special or general?

For most overseas clients a special power of attorney is safer. It allows your attorney to do one specific job, such as selling one property or running one court case. A general power of attorney gives wide powers over your affairs and is easier to misuse.

Where do I sign the power of attorney?

At the Pakistani embassy, high commission or consulate in the country where you live. The mission verifies your identity and attests the document. In some cases NADRA’s Pak ID app can also be used; we tell you whether the office receiving it in Pakistan will accept it.

What does the embassy usually ask for?

Your CNIC or NICOP, your passport, a copy of your attorney’s CNIC, the drafted power of attorney, and usually two witnesses with their ID. Requirements differ between missions, so check your embassy’s current list or ask us.

What happens after the power of attorney reaches Pakistan?

It usually has to be stamped in Pakistan within a limited time after it arrives, generally three months, and for property work it is presented at the relevant registrar or society office. Send it to us as soon as it is attested.

Can I cancel a power of attorney later?

Yes. You sign a deed of revocation in the same way and inform the registrar, bank, housing society or court where the power of attorney was used.

Can my attorney sell my property without telling me?

Only if the power of attorney allows it. That is why we draft special powers of attorney with clear limits, such as one property, a minimum price, or a fixed time period.
